Samsung has reportedly begun rolling out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to its Galaxy S III smartphone.
It’s notable the S III is among those smartphones that were left behind by Android updates. Currently, it’s stuck on Android 4.1. The smartphone will now jump to v4.3, skipping the v4.2.
With the v4.3 update, the Samsung Galaxy S III receives a range of new features include updated S-Voice voice control,TRIM support, new Samsung keyboard, new lockscreens, revamped settings, full screen Samsung apps, improvements to the TouchWiz interface and most importantly support for the Galaxy Gear smart watch.
According to reports, the update is being rolled out in phases over the air and is almost 1GB in size.
Recently, a leaked image was spotted online which shows the Galaxy S III running on the latest Android OS 4.3.
Roll-out of the v4.3 update also comes shortly after Google released its latest Android update,v4.4 KitKat. The update, which was announced with the new Android flagship the Nexus 5, will be available for most recent flagship phones, including the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
