Last month Samsung introduced the 128GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy S8+ in India for a Rs. 74,990, and has now dropped the price to Rs.70,900. The price of the device has been dropped across all online stores. Samsung will also bundle in some offers with the purchase of the phone, like HDFC bank card owners can avail an additional cashback of Rs. 3,000 using their credit or debit card for the purchase. Moreover, customers can also get a free wireless charger with the phone, if they follow the instructions provided in the terms and conditions.
Reliance Jio is also partnering with Samsung and users can avail double data plans on their Jio SIMs with Rs. 309 and Rs. 509 plans. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ supports all 4G bands in India and features an all new Gigabit modem which provides better connection and speeds compared to its predecessor. The performance of the device is handled by the Exynos 8895 SoC, which is combined with 6GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage. The device does support microSD cards upto 256GB, although has a hybrid SIM slot. The 12MP rear camera is not a big upgrade over the Galaxy S7, but it still is among the best available. Moreover, the front facing camera has been upgraded to an 8MP sensor, which now supports autofocus.
The main attraction of the phone remains its infinity display, which at 6.2-inches is a little big, but the curved bezel-less design brings the whole footprint down to smaller than a normal 5.5-inch phone. It is a QHD display and like all premium Samsung phones features an SAMOLED panel. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, which lies underneath a minimalistic Samsung UI. The phone also features Bluetooth 5.0, which can connect to two bluetooth devices at once.
