Samsung is about to release the third in its line of Galaxy tablets. The next tablet in line is a 8.9 version of the tablet., previously Samsung launched a 7″ version (hands-on) and announced a 10.1″ version during MWC 2011, which is yet to release.
While the first tablet used a 1 Ghz single-core CPU and ran Android 2.2, the second uses a Tegra 2 dual-core 1 GHz CPU and will run Android 3.0.
The Samsung tablets are seen as the first real competition for the iPad, and have done quite well for themselves, with sales having crossed 1 million. So this news of a third Samsung Galaxy tablet comes just in time considering that the iPad 2 is also rumoured to be near announcement.
Samsung has put up a teaser advertisement for the upcoming announcement of their latest tablet which is due for release on March 22nd.
