The update brings support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, TRIM, Knox, Samsung Wallet, better RAM management, new UI and lots more.

Samsung has finally started rolling out Android 4.3 update for its Galaxy Note 2. The update brings a range of new changes and improvements over Android 4.1.2. The UI has been completely revamped and is in line with the new Note 3 and Galaxy S 4. Samsung has also overhauled setting app with a new tabbed interface. The update also includes support for Samsung Galaxy Gear, Knox and Wallet.

Sammobile, which published the change log, says the update to Note 2 is far more stable than the update to the Galaxy S 3 that was suspended after users reported multiple issues. The Android 4.3 update brings improved RAM management, new Samsung keyboard, lockscreen, daydream, actionable notifications, driving more, new camera mode, new Samsung apps such as calculator, clock, contacts, gallery, music, full screen Samsung apps and new S-Voice (from Galaxy S4).

Samsung will be rolling out the update in phases, so it may take a while to be available in your area.

Samsung had launched the Note 2 and S 3 with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. But, the company never updated these devices to Android 4.2.2. According to Sammobile, Samsung did not conduct a single internal test for Android 4.2.2 build for the Note II.

With Android 4.4 Kitkat update around in the corner, Samsung will be under pressure to update its latest flagship devices as well as the older ones to upgrade to the new version. It’s notable Sony has already announced its Android 4.3 and 4.4 upgrade roadmap.
