Interested buyers in India can now head to Samsung India's website to pre-register for the Galaxy Note 8. The premium smartphone is expected to be launched in India on September 12.

Two weeks after its global unveil, the Galaxy Note 8 is headed to India and Samsung has opened up pre-registrations for the flagship smartphone in the country. Pre-registering for the Galaxy Note 8 will allow interested buyers to be first in line to pre-order the smartphone. Those who are looking to get their hands on the Note 8, as soon as it’s made available in India, will have to fill out a pre-registration form on the Samsung India website. Interested buyers have to input their name, email address, phone number, and pin code to pre-register for the Note 8. There is also a multiple choice survey question asking interested customers about their favourite Note 8 features.

The Galaxy Note 8 is Samsung’s second flagship launch of the year, after the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The smartphone is more of a phablet and features a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9, something most flagship smartphones have adopted this year. The Note 8 was launched with 6GB of RAM and multiple storage options ranging from 64GB to 256GB. It is not clear if Samsung will bring all the storage variants to India.

The Galaxy Note 8 gets its processing power from the Snapdragon 835 mobile platform in the US, but in India, Samsung will most likely launch the device with its own Exynos 8895 chipset. The Note 8 is also the first Samsung smartphone to house a dual rear camera setup. It has two 12MP sensors at the back, one f/1.7 aperture wide-angle lens and another telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, the Note 8 features an 8MP camera at the front, with f/1.7 aperture.

Just yesterday, It was reported that the Galaxy note 8 will be launched in India on September 12, coinciding with the global unveil of the new iPhones. Samsung is said to be sending out media invites for the launch event of the Galaxy Note 8 in New Delhi.

One can expect the Galaxy Note 8 to be priced upwards of Rs 56,000 in India if its international pricing of $960 is anything to go by. Yesterday, the price of LG’s latest flagship, the LG V30, was leaked online suggesting that the Note 8 will be a pricier device to buy.

Samsung is still leading smartphone sales globally and sales of the Galaxy Note 8 are expected to boost its market position. However, with Apple’s 10th anniversary edition of the iPhone launching on September 12, and Huawei’s Mate 10 also in the works, it will be interesting to watch who wins this year’s round of the flagship battle.
