Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S III will be launched in India on May 31st, and we’ve received our invite for the press conference in New Delhi. You’ll have to wait until then however, for pricing details, and information on the exact retail availability.
If the Galaxy S III hits shelves soon after the launch event (see invite below), as we hope, India would be one of the first territories to get the device, along with Europe. India is expected to get the Galaxy S III at roughly Rs. 38,000, for the smallest 16GB variant.
We’ve already covered the Galaxy S III’s top-of-the-line hardware extensively, and its smart feature-set, both of which look set to give Samsung another iPhone-killer on its hands, after the success of the S II.
The S III’s early benchmarks also indicate the Korean giant’s latest flagship will outperform most of the competition, at least until other major manufacturer’s quad-core smartphones make their way to the market.
Stay tuned for more availability and pricing information of the Samsung Galaxy S III in India, as well as hands-on coverage, from the launch event in New Delhi on Thursday.
In the meantime, refer to our S III versus HTC One X comparison, to see just how good the Galaxy S III looks compared to its already released quad-core competition in India.
