Samsung may launch Galaxy Note 8 with dual camera, this August
The Galaxy Note 8 is rumoured to be powered by the same SoC as the Galaxy S8 and feature a 6.3-inch bezel-less display.
After the successful launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the Galaxy Note 8 in late August. Previous rumours suggest that the phone might feature a 6.3-inch infinity display, similar to the Galaxy S8. This would mean that the phone will feature an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and thinner bezels all around. As reported by the Korea Herald, the Samsung Note 8 might also be the company’s first phone with dual cameras at the back. Although, this is not the first time we have heard about an alleged Note 8 featuring a dual camera setup. A previous report suggests that the phone will have dual cameras at the back with a 12MP + 13MP camera setup. The included 12MP camera may use a wide-angle lens supporting dual photodiode (2PD), and the 13MP camera might be fitted with a telephoto lens.
Rumours are that Samsung might be looking for an early launch to water down the Apple iPhone launch which is expected to happen in September. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is likely to be powered by the same Exynos or Qualcomm SoC’s as the Galaxy S8, depending on the region. There has been no other news about the RAM and storage option. The phone is also likley to run on Android Nougat out of the box.
While all these rumours seem quite promising, Samsung may need to still deal with the burn marks left by the Note 7, which literally exploded and caught fire. It was previously reported that Samsung might be working on a refurbished version of the Note 7 with a smaller battery, but till now, nothing has been confirmed.
