The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 features a 5.7-inch curved display and a new, improved stylus.

Just a few day after the international launch in London, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 has made its way to India. The smartphone brings the much appreciated Galaxy S7 Edge design to the Note range. It features a dual-edge display, although the curve on the display is narrower than that on the Galaxy S7 Edge. The latest iteration also sports an IP68 certification, making it water and dust-resistant. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will sell for Rs. 59,990 and will be available from August 19, 2016. As we reported earlier, the phone will initially be exclusive to Amazon for online sales.

While the phone is available in some countries with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, the Indian version is powered by the Exynos 8890. This is the same SoC that runs the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones. The Note 7 also has 4GB of RAM and a 12MP dual-pixel camera. Samsung has added 64GB of internal storage, though, which is a huge addition. The phone also supports microSD cards of up to 256GB. Along with curved edges, the 5.7-inch display on the Note 7 also lets users change the resolution from QHD to FHD and below, in order to save battery.

Samsung also launched its new Gear VR headset with the Galaxy Note 7. The new headset is black in colour, and has a USB Type-C port, although you’ll get an additional micro-USB adapter in the box, in case you need to use it with the Galaxy S7 or S6 series. The company has also announced the Gear IconX earbuds, along with the Gear Fit 2 smartband. The Samsung Gear VR is priced at Rs. 7,290 and will sell from September 2016, while the IconX and Gear Fit 2 will be available at Rs. 13,490 and Rs. 13,990 respectively. Both of these will be selling from August 2016.
