In the third quarter of 2023, Samsung secured the third position in foldable phone shipments in China, holding a 19 percent market share. According to the report, the introduction of an entry-level Galaxy Z Fold 6 is anticipated to contribute to Samsung’s efforts to broaden its influence in the Chinese smart home market.
Samsung’s consideration of making an entry-level variant for the Z Fold 6 instead of the Z Flip 6, is likely driven by the evaluation that the Z Flip series has already established itself well in the market. Among Samsung’s foldable phone lineup, the Z Flip series currently outpaces the Z Fold in terms of shipments, as per the report.
If the report is true, we can expect three foldable phones from Samsung this year: the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, the entry-level variant of the Z Fold 6, and the Z Flip 6.
Earlier, display analyst Ross Young revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 might boast larger displays than their predecessors. He also revealed the size of Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover display. He mentioned, “Flip 6 cover display approaching 3.9″. For context, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is equipped with a 3.4-inch cover display.
