For starters, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are expected to be lighter with longer battery life despite being slightly thinner, according to leaker Evan Blass (via The Verge). Additionally, the Z Flip 6 will likely allow users to use Samsung’s Interpreter Mode on its front cover screen, enabling translation by pointing the text of one language at the person you’re talking to while the other faces you.
Both devices are expected to offer IP48 ingress protection, though it’s important to note this isn’t necessarily an improvement in terms of dust resistance. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to come with vapour chamber cooling.
Now, let’s take a closer look at the details.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to feature a 7.6-inch inner screen and a 6.3-inch outer screen, boasting a significantly higher maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, up from 1,750 nits. It will likely be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The device might offer one hour longer LTE internet battery life and two hours longer video playback compared to its predecessor. There might be a reduction in weight by 14 grams and slight dimensional changes—1.4mm shorter, 1mm wider, and 1.3mm thinner when folded, and 1.4mm shorter, 2.7mm wider, and 0.5mm thinner when unfolded.
Furthermore, it might come with an “improved Armor Aluminum frame” and a slightly larger secondary screen. It will likely maintain similar specifications in cameras, battery capacity (4400mAh), and cover glass (Gorilla Glass Victus 2).
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to feature a 6.7-inch inner screen and a 3.4-inch outer screen. It will likely sport a 50MP main camera, a significant upgrade from 12MP, with the same f/1.8 aperture. Expected to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 12GB of RAM (up from 8GB), the device will likely see its secondary display transition from OLED to IPS technology. It might be 0.2mm thinner when folded, while the other dimensions and weight could be the same
Additionally, the Z Flip 6 will likely pack a 4,000mAh battery (up from 3,700mAh), promising two hours longer LTE internet battery life and three hours longer video playback. There might be no change in the cover glass.
