Samsung Galaxy Y Plus budget phone revealed on official site
Latest budget Galaxy smartphone supports dual-SIM, comes with Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Samsung Galaxy Y Plus, a budget dual-SIM Android smartphone was revealed today by Samsung through its official site. The Galaxy Y Plus will now replace the original Galaxy Y as the least expensive Android smartphone from Samsung currently available in the market. While the original Galaxy Y still runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), the Galaxy Y Plus comes with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
According to the specs listed on the Samsung site, the Galaxy Y Plus is powered by an 850MHz processor and sports a 2.8-inch display with a resolution of 320×240 pixels. In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy Y Plus supports FM, 3G and Wi-Fi. It has a solitary 2MP camera and is about 13 mm thick and weighs under 100 grams. Samsung hasn’t revealed the Galaxy Y Plus’ internal storage capacity but it does support microSD cards up to 32GB. The phone also offers dual-SIM support unlike its predecessor that only supported a single SIM.
Samsung has not yet revealed pricing details or a launch timeframe for the Galaxy Y Plus.
