Many users have complained on Samsung official forum that there are certain areas of the screen where inputs are not registered.

It seems like there are some touchscreen issues with Samsung’s new flagship smartphones. Android Police reports that many users are complaining about ‘dead spots’ on the screen of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. As the name would suggest, dead spots are areas on the screen where inputs are not registered. Many of the users complained about the issue on Samsung official forums, but the location of the dead spots differ between users. Some are reporting that the area on on the top, making it hard to pull down the notification shade. For others, its towards the bottom, which leads to a problem when using the keyboard.

Since the issue was reported, Samsung has issued a statement which says, “At Samsung, customer satisfaction is core to our business and we aim to deliver the best possible experience. We are looking into a limited number of reports of Galaxy S9/S9+ touchscreen responsiveness issues. We are working with affected customers and investigating. We encourage any customer with questions to contact us directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.” While this issue may not be as big as the last time a Samsung flagship showed hardware issues, it is good to see the company responding quickly to resolve the issue.

Both the devices have already been launched in India starting at Rs 57,900 for the standard Galaxy S9. The larger, Galaxy S9+ starts at Rs 64,900. You can check out our review of the Galaxy S9+ here.
