Samsung Galaxy S8 may feature dual-rear cameras, UHD display
The dual camera lenses will reportedly be developed by Samsung themselves
A new rumour suggests that Samsung’s next generation flagship device, the Galaxy S8, may feature dual-rear cameras and a UHD display. According to a report by Wccftech, which cites a source in China, the phone’s dual-camera lenses will most likely be engineered by Samsung’s own SEMCO branch. It is also speculated that the reason for the company to upgrade to a 4K display is to deliver a better VR experience.
Earlier this month, Chinese website Zol had also reported that the Samsung was developing dual-rear cameras for its smartphones, but said that it was going to be used in the Galaxy Note 7. However, it is most likely that the new imaging system would be utilized in the next generation of Galaxy devices, while the Galaxy Note 7 could feature the same 12MP unit used in the Galaxy S7. Further, Samsung also unveiled a 4K display aimed at VR at its Display Week conference last month. The display has a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The company also showcased a new technology called Bio Blue, which aims to reduce blue light levels in displays, which could potentially reduce eye strain caused when wearing VR headsets by reducing blue light levels in displays. It is possible that the display in the Galaxy S8 would utilise this technology.
