Samsung Galaxy S7 edge wins Best Smartphone 2016 award at MWC 2017
The device won the award in the Best Mobile Handset and Devices category, taking away GSMA's annual prize for smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has won the ‘Best Smartphone 2016’ award, given by GSMA at MWC 2017. The device won the award in the Best Mobile Handset and Devices category. “We are honored to be recognized for our craftsmanship in design and innovation with the Galaxy S7 edge,” said Junho Park, Vice President of Global Product Strategy, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. “This award is a testament to our constant pursuit of excellence as we continue to exceed consumers’ expectations through revolutionary mobile technology.”
The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge was launched almost a year ago and is one of the best Android phones that one can buy even now. The Galaxy S7 edge offers a 5.5-inch QHD curved Super AMOLED display, and is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 SoC along with 4GB RAM. The Galaxy S7 series of devices also came with 12MP Dual Pixel rear cameras, with f/1.7 aperture lens. Samsung said that the Dual Pixel technology lets in 56% more light as compared to standard sensors. The phone offers one of the best smartphone cameras in the market even now, and it’s low light capabilities have been hailed as quite exceptional.
