Ever since Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy S6, there were rumours that the company might launch a S6 Mini as well. The said phone was listed a few days back on an e-retailer’s website. The website not only lists the full spec sheet of the phone but gives us a clearer look of the phone as well. According to the listing on the UAE website, the phone is yet to receive a price tag and is only available for pre-order once you register for it.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini apparently sports a 1.8GHz Hexa-core SoC. The website doesn’t clarify the make of the SoC but if previous rumors are to be believed, it might be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC. This is the same SoC LG used on its flagship G4 smartphone. According to the listing, the phone has a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED display. The resolution is still unknown but going by previous rumors, we expect it to be 720p display. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage but no microSD card slot.
The product listing on letstango also suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini will have a 15MP rear shooter and a 5MP front-facing camera. There are no other details about camera on the product page. The phone is believed to have a non-removable Li-ion battery but the capacity of the same is still unknown. Other than that, it will support a single nano-SIM and will have LTE support. The phone will come with the fast fingerprint sensor.
On the software side, the phone will be shipping with TouchWiz UI which is supposed to be layered on top of Android 5.1 Lollipop. Feature like Smart stay, Smart pause, Smart scroll, Air gestures, etc are also supported. The listing also says that the phone will support Samsung Smart Pay in regions which support the facility.
We expect the phone to be launched officially in Q1 of 2016.
