Samsung’s flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4 is receiving a new update. The update is currently available for the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S4 and will shortly be available for the Exynos-powered Galaxy S4. As of now the update is available only in Germany and there is no information on when it will be available globally.
One of the biggest issues with the 16GB Galaxy S4 is that it only offers users a mere 9.15GB of user available storage. The update will now offer users an easier way of transferring data from the built-in storage to the microSD card. The update also increases the available built-in storage from 9.15GB to 9.23GB.
Other improvements brought with the update includes a new camera firmware, Smart Pause Toggle in the drop down notification, ability to move apps to SD Card, HDR Video recording, Semi-transparent status bar , new Icons in Settings and more.
The update is a whopping 365.67MB in size and can be downloaded on your Samsung Galaxy S4 via Samsung Kies Over-The-Air. You might want to keep your device plugged in during the update process.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 has an Exynos 5 Octa 5410 (quad-core 1.6GHz and quad-core 1.2GHz for the variant available in Inda) and the PowerVR SGX 544MP3 along with 2GB of RAM. The S4 has a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1920×1080 pixel resolution. A 2600mAh battery powers the package.
