Samsung has shipped 6 million Galaxy S4 units and we’re getting to hear of rumours of a Galaxy S4 Mini, which has apparently posed quite nicely for the camera of a tipster. From the images leaked, it looks exactly like the S4, but smaller.
However, this new leak doesn’t just bring proper high-resolution images, but also a detailed look inside the S4 Mini with respect to specs. For starters, it seems that the S4 Mini is running Android 4.2.2 version and TouchWiz UX 5.0, same as the Galaxy S4 flagship. It would also seem that the S4’s eye tracking capabilities have made their way into the S4 mini as well (notice the eye icon on the top taskbar).
As far as the specifications go, we are hearing that the Galaxy S4 Mini will be powered by Samsung's own Exynos 5210 chipset with a dual-core 1.6GHz processor along with 1GB of RAM. The rest of the specs include a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, an 8MP rear camera with dual-video recording, and at least 8GB internal storage expandable via a microSD card slot.
So far, we haven’t heard anything on what price bracket might fall under, but we can expect it to be priced rather competitively. A cheaper version of the premium flagship S4 would be something that many people could find themselves being potentially attracted to, but the price of the device will finally determine its success.
