Samsung has dropped the price of its Galaxy S3 Neo smartphone. The smartphone, which was earlier selling at around Rs. 20,000, is now available on Flipkart for Rs. 12,499. Samsung has officially dropped the price and has put up advertisements in both the Times of India and on Flipkart itself. This brings the S3 Neo to the same price range as the Moto G (2nd Gen), while sporting better specifications than the latter.

The S3 Neo has a 4.8 inch 720p Super AMOLED display, along with an 8 MP rear camera and a 1.9 MP front camera. It is powered by the 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core SoC along with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded to 64GB. The device is the toned down version of Samsung’s erstwhile flagship Galaxy S3 smartphone.

Further, while the S3 Neo runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, we’re yet to know if it will get the Lollipop update. The Neo though is still an outdated smartphone, which will almost certainly not be updated beyond Lollipop (if it is at all updated to Lollipop). The Moto G (2nd Gen) on the other hand was launched this year and has a longer lifetime ahead of it.
