Samsung is gearing up for its first major event of the year, the Galaxy Unpacked 2025, scheduled for January 22. The spotlight will likely be on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. With design improvements, better performance, and enhanced features, the S25 Ultra is expected to redefine flagship standards. But should you wait for the S25 Ultra or consider the S24 Ultra, which might soon become more affordable? Here’s a detailed look at the five key differences to help you decide.

Design changes

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to sport more rounded corners compared to the boxy edges of the S24 Ultra. It will likely come with a lighter titanium body and might be more ergonomic, offering a comfortable grip. While the S24 Ultra already looks premium, the S25 Ultra’s refined design could be a game-changer for those prioritising comfort and style.

Performance boost

Samsung’s S25 Ultra will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which promises faster performance and better efficiency than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in the S24 Ultra. Additionally, the S25 Ultra will feature faster RAM and improved UFS 4.1 storage.

Camera enhancements

The S25 Ultra is expected to include a 50MP ultrawide camera, a significant upgrade from the S24 Ultra’s 12MP ultrawide lens. While the main 200MP sensor remains the same, improved telephoto capabilities is expected to deliver sharper and more detailed zoom shots

AI features with OneUI 7

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to launch with Android 15-based OneUI 7, introducing smarter AI features like an enhanced Bixby assistant and customisable lock screens. Although the S24 Ultra will receive these updates eventually, the S25 Ultra will likely have them ready to use out of the box.

Price difference

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to launch at Rs 1,35,000, making it a premium option. On the other hand, the S24 Ultra is likely to get a price cut after the S25 series launch, offering a more budget-friendly alternative without compromising on flagship-level performance.
