Apple and Samsung are two of the biggest smartphone makers and often we see them competing with each other. This time, the two smartphone makers seem to be competing over who will bring out a “slim” phone first. For a while now, we have been hearing rumours that Apple is working on the “iPhone 17 Air or iPhone 17 Slim”. This will supposedly be its slimmest smartphone to date and will reportedly replace the “Plus” model on its lineup. A fresh set of rumours suggests that Samsung is also working on a leaner smartphone.
Samsung is reportedly working on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim and will most likely release it much before Apple. The South Korean tech giant can unveil the slim smartphone by April 2025, while Apple’s is not expected till September 2025. Both of these devices will compete head to head and are expected to pack high-end processors, advanced camera setups, and impressive AI features.
Although a lot is not known about the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim, it is expected to be in line with Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 series. The differentiator will be yes, the thinner design.
On the other hand, a lot of rumours are going around about the iPhone 17 Air/Slim. It can feature a 6.6-inch LTPO OLED display with ProMotion tech that will offer up to 120Hz refresh rate. It can be powered by Apple’s next A19 chipset and can feature a single camera.
If Samsung releases its slimmer smartphone in the market by April 2025, then it will have a first-mover advantage and an edge over Apple. Let’s see how the two tech giants bring out their slim smartphones, until then let’s take this information with a pinch of salt as neither has communicated anything.
