South Korean tech giant Samsung will soon host its annual Galaxy Unpacked 2025 during which it will unveil the latest Galaxy S25 series. The series traditionally includes three smartphones, which are expected to be the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and the most premium of the lot Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, this time, a new addition is expected with the S25 series. If reports are to be believed, Samsung will introduce the Galaxy S25 Slim alongside the standard, Plus, and Ultra models during Unpacked this time. Early reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to slot between the S25+ and S25 Ultra in terms of pricing, while its USP will be the ultra-thin design.
The Galaxy S25 Slim will take on the rumoured iPhone 17 Air. It is expected to be just 6.5mm thick. If it is launched on January 22, it will become the slimmest smartphone on the market. While no official renders or leaks have surfaced, insiders suggest that the S25 Slim will sport a distinct design, potentially serving as the template for Samsung’s 2026 flagship lineup.
Despite being slim, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to feature top-tier hardware. It will reportedly have a 6.66-inch display, matching the S25+. On the performance front, it can be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The battery capacity is speculated to fall between 4,700mAh and 5,000mAh because of its slim build.
The camera setup is expected to be similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It can even borrow the 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP5 sensor from the S25 Ultra, along with 50-megapixel ultrawide and telephoto lenses. The telephoto camera is expected to feature 3.5x optical zoom using Samsung’s innovative All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) technology, designed for compact devices.
The Galaxy S25 is expected to cost more than the S25+ but less than the Ultra. The device will likely be announced at the January 22 Unpacked event.
