An X user spotted this detail in Google's blog about its 'AlphaChip'.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is still a few months away, expected to launch next year, probably in January. However, the leaks and rumours around the next Samsung flagship phones have started to surface on the internet. Previously, we came across leaks about the design of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Snapdragon processors in the standard Galaxy S25 models, and much more. In the latest development, the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are rumoured to be powered not by Exynos or Snapdragon processor, but by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor.
MediaTek is dropping its next-gen flagship processor tomorrow, October 9. The chipset will succeed the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, which powered many high-end phones such as Vivo X100 Pro, Oppo Find X7, Redmi K70 Ultra, and more. Now this chipset is coming to the Galaxy S25 standard models is a surprise. An X user who goes by the username sawtooth special edition spotted this detail in Google’s blog about its ‘AlphaChip’.
The blog states, “External organizations are also adopting and building on AlphaChip. For example, MediaTek, one of the top chip design companies in the world, extended AlphaChip to accelerate development of their most advanced chips — like the Dimensity Flagship 5G used in Samsung mobile phones — while improving power, performance and chip area.” On the basis of that, the Dimensity 9400 SoC is expected in the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+.
What else do we know about the Samsung Galaxy S25?
The Samsung Galaxy S25 is expected to come with a more rounded frame, a 6.9-inch screen, thinner bezels, and a lighter titanium frame. Moreover, it is also rumoured to feature the same camera setup and battery as the Samsung Galax S24. The Galaxy S24’s camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. On the battery front, it is packed with a 4000mAh battery with 25-watt fast charging support.
