Samsung Galaxy S25 India launch: Date, display, camera, processor and other details
Samsung is unlikely to make a major change to the design of the Galaxy S25.
Since this is a compact flagship, expect Samsung to fit a smaller 6.17-inch AMOLED display on the Galaxy S25.
This year we can see QHD+ resolution, LTPO panel type, HDR10+ standard support, and 120Hz refresh rate.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series India launch is not so far. In fact, if rumours are to be believed, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S25 series in India earlier than planned. Just like the last few years, Samsung should launch 3 phones as part of the series – Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra. While the last will get the most special treatment and show us what Samsung is truly capable of, it’s the Samsung Galaxy S25 that most people can afford.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 launch date is yet to be announced. However, it is expected to be launched on January 22, alongside the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
So, what will new in the Samsung Galaxy S25? Will it be capable enough to compete with the Google Pixel 9 and iPhone 16? Or, will be just another incremental upgrade over the predecessor? Let us break it down for you.
Samsung Galaxy S25: Design and display
Samsung is unlikely to make a major change to the design of the Galaxy S25. It has stuck to the same design philosophy over the last years for its flagship phones and the S25 should get a similar treatment. This means the Galaxy S25 will have a glass finish with the same camera rings as the Galaxy S24. You can also expect Samsung to introduce new colours with the phone.
Since this is a compact flagship, expect Samsung to fit a smaller 6.17-inch AMOLED display on the Galaxy S25. This year we can see QHD+ resolution, LTPO panel type, HDR10+ standard support, and 120Hz refresh rate.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Performance
This is the most interesting part – Exynos or Snapdragon? Samsung has a difficult decision to make. Earlier, there were rumours that Samsung may equip the Galaxy S25 with MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC. However, it seems like Samsung may once again opt for Exynos 2500 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, depending on the market. Irrespective of the chipset, the phone should get 12GB RAM on the base variant.
The chipset would also ensure Galaxy AI features on the phone which will include some new capabilities. The Samsung Galaxy S25 should also come with Android 15-based OneUI 7 with 7 years of software updates.
Samsung Galaxy S25: Camera
Unfortunately, we are not expecting major upgrades here. The Samsung Galaxy S25 should come with a 50-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The display punch-hole may house a 12-megapixel front camera. This is exactly the same setup as the Galaxy S24.
In all likeliness, Samsung will go heavy on the AI features of the Galaxy S25 and you should expect a price hike for the Indian variant as well.
