Samsung Galaxy S25 expected to outperform Galaxy S24 with higher shipment targets
A report by The Elec revealed that Samsung plans to ship around 37 million Galaxy S25 series units.
With the Galaxy S24 series Samsung shipped approximately 35 million units.
Counterpoint Research also placed the Galaxy S24 among the top ten best-selling smartphones.
South Korean tech giant Samsung is gearing up for the launch of its flagship smartphone lineup- the Galaxy S25 series. The series is expected to include the usual: Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. This time we might get to see another addition to the lineup with the Galaxy S25 Slim. The Galaxy S series is not only Samsung’s flagship series but has been pretty promising for the company. With the Galaxy S25 series, reports suggest that the tech giant is setting ambitious production goals to match up with the strong consumer demand that is expected.
A report by The Elec revealed that Samsung plans to ship around 37 million Galaxy S25 series units in 2025. This year, with the Galaxy S24 series Samsung shipped approximately 35 million units. So with the upcoming Samsung lineup, more sales are expected. The company expects a lot more units to be sold this year as it is adding more to the experience with additions like the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and more.
This follows the strong sales performance of the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung’s Q2 2024 earnings report highlighted double-digit growth in shipments and revenue compared to the Galaxy S23 series. This feat was credited to enhanced features like Galaxy AI. Counterpoint Research also placed the Galaxy S24 among the top ten best-selling smartphones during Q3 2024.
However, reports suggest that despite the focus on the flagship lineup, Samsung can lower the overall production target for the upcoming financial year. If reports are to be believed, the company now aims to produce 229.4 million units, down from the earlier projection of 237 million. Among these, 7 million units are expected to be foldable phones. This hints that Samsung is probably considering a strategic shift in balancing flagship and niche product categories.
