For quite some time, there have been several rumours and leaks about Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone series, Galaxy S24. Now, a tipster has revealed that the Galaxy S24 lineup is expected to support the Ultra HDR feature.
The information came from tipstеr Icе Univеrsе who claimed that all thrее modеls in thе Galaxy S24 series– thе Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra– will likely support thе Ultra HDR feature, reports Gizmochina.

Ultra HDR is a nеw fеaturе introduced in Android 14 which lets users capture and view HDR photos and videos in their original high-quality format. Some Chinese brand flagship smartphones already have it, but Samsung hasn’t added it to its devices yet.

The Galaxy S24 series is rumoured to feature Super AMOLED displays with a peak brightness of up to 2,500 nits, marking a 42% increase compared to the Galaxy S23 series. This enhanced brightness makes the displays ideal for displaying HDR content.
Currently, most Android smartphones convert HDR images and videos to the Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) display range, resulting in the loss of extended dynamic range details. In contrast, iPhones have been able to display HDR content for some time.
However, more Android flagships, such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, are anticipated to enable this feature now that Ultra HDR has been introduced in Android 14.
The Ultra HDR feature on the Galaxy S24 series is expected to enable users to experience HDR photos and videos in their full glory, preserving all the details and vibrant colours captured by the camera.
