With the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event confirmed to take place on February 1, it is believed that the brand is going to reveal innovative products on that date. It is believed that the Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup will be revealed during the event, and we may even see new Galaxy Book laptops. There have been plenty of leaks regarding the flagship smartphones coming up. However, now, there are new reports saying that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 may run on a modified Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
According to a report published in 9to5Google, the custom chips will be known as "Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy." These chips are believed to have a prime core that will be clocked higher than the standard chipsets, with the promise being that it can clock up to 3.36GHz. The regular Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 clocks in at 3.19GHz.
We have not heard anything from Samsung itself, so it is unclear whether the name of the chipset will be the same as what 9to5Google has reported or if the same is just a marketing name. Based on these new chipsets, these smartphones are believed to come with a higher price tag this year.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 series will launch on February 1, 2023, at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event.
