Samsung Galaxy S22 Series could launch in India sometime in March: Report
HIGHLIGHTS

Samsung Galaxy S22 series is set to debut on February 9, 2022, but its India arrival may extend to March.

In India, Samsung Galaxy S22 is likely to use Exynos 2200 SoC.

Besides the chipset, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra specs could include a 120Hz 2K AMOLED display, One UI based on Android 12, 108MP quad rear camera setup, 40MP front camera, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, and a 5000mAh battery with 40W wired charging support.

Samsung must be waiting with bated breath to unveil the Galaxy S22 series on February 9, which is just the day after tomorrow. However, the Indian launch of the new Galaxy flagships might take some time. This is according to tipster Yogesh Brar. In his tweet, he claims, “So India gets the Galaxy S22 series in March”.

Well, if that’s true, then it means people in India might have to wait at least a month to get their hands on the new Galaxy S22 smartphones.

This sort of lands closer to another recent report that stated the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ would be available in select regions starting March 11 only, while the Ultra variant would be quicker to hit the stores in February itself.

Now this speculation around the launch timeline aside, the specs and features of the forthcoming Galaxy S22 lineup are largely public and fairly certain, thanks to multiple leaks and rumours. So, let’s just dig in to see everything that we have at the moment about these devices.

Samsung Galaxy S22 renders

Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, S22 Ultra Specs (Expected)

From leaked renders, Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ seem to be sticking to mostly the same design language as the predecessors. S22 Ultra though appears to be dressed anew with a flat exterior with not even a major camera bump. It looks more like a Note series handset, something which even Samsung seems to be going for as the device is also expected to rock an S-Pen.

Bump or no bump, the camera hardware on the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus are said to be changed. They may have a 50MP+ 10MP (3x telephoto)+ 12MP (120° ultrawide) triplet. The S22 Ultra, on the other hand, is likely to carry forward the same sensor arrangement as the precursor, i.e., a 108MP+ 10MP (10x periscope telephoto)+ 10MP (3x optical telephoto)+ 12MP (120˚ ultrawide) setup.

The front cameras, meanwhile, would be a 40MP on the Galaxy S22 Ultra and a 10MP on both the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus models.

Internally, all three phones are expected to come powered by Exynos 2200 chipset with ray-tracing capable AMD RDNA 2 based Xclipse 920 GPU, Android 12 based One UI 4.1, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. The battery size may be 5000mAh on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, 4500mAh on the Galaxy S21+, and 3700mAh battery on the base Galaxy S22 model. As for charging, both the top-end trims are alleged to support 45W charging while the normal S22 would be limited to 25W charging speeds.

Anyways, in a matter of some hours, we will have the complete details about the specs, features, price, and might even the availability for the entire world, including India.
