Samsung now offers many years of software updates with its flagship smartphones. The last flagship lineup, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series comes with 7 years of software updates. Offering frequent software updates is great, but if your smartphone freezes after those updates, it can be very annoying. Similarly, a large number of Samsung users have reported bricking issues on their phones due to the latest update. It is the Samsung Galaxy S10 series and Galaxy Note 10 series that have been affected by this update. Users are not able to access their smartphones and there is only one option they are left with, factory reset their phones.
A lot of Samsung Galaxy S10 series and Galaxy Note 10 series users have reported that their phones are restarting constantly, which we also call a boot loop. If you go to Reddit and search about the bricking issues in Samsung phones, it looks like almost every user of the above-mentioned smartphones is facing this. Apart from this, some reports are also claiming the same issue in the Galaxy M51 and Galaxy A90 smartphones.
If you are also using a Samsung smartphone and facing the same issue, you’ll need to factory reset it. Since you can’t do this from inside the phone due to bootloops, I’ll show you how to do it externally.
Note that all your data will be erased after the reset, but it can possibly fix your smartphone and prevent it from getting bricked. So, you have to boot your smartphone into recovery mode, and to do that follow these steps:
Step 1: Turn the device off.
Step 2: Press and hold the Bixby and Volume up buttons.
Step 3: Press the power button and hold it until you see the Samsung logo on the display.
Step 4: Now, release all the buttons and your phone will enter into recovery mode.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 users can just press and hold the volume up and power buttons to enter into recover mode.
Now, once you are in recovery mode, follow these steps to reset your smartphone:
Step 1: Use the volume button to move and the power button to select.
Step 2: Select “Wipe data/factory reset.”
Step 3: Go back to the previous menu and select the “Reboot system now” option.
So, this is how you can factory reset your Samsung smartphone if you are also facing bricking issues. Samsung has taken down the update now, but if you have already updated your smartphone, thank us later for the solution!
