Samsung Galaxy S IV camera samples leak online, don’t confirm sensor size

The newest leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S IV sample camera images, which unfortunately do not confirm any of the previous 13MP sensor rumours.

Some images clicked with the highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S IV have surfaced online. The S IV has been rumoured to have a 13MP camera, but looking at the details that have emerged along with the images, this fact cannot still be verified. The images have found their way onto Google . Some of the images were uploaded yesterday and some were uploaded today, suggesting that some lucky Samsung employee has his hands on the device. The Samsung Galaxy S IV is expected to be unveiled on March 15, and hit store shelves in European and Asian markets in April, whereas America, Africa and Australia will see the device launch in May and June. We were expecting the device to be unveiled at the MWC 2013, which begins on February 25.

The Galaxy S IV is likely to be powered by the eight-core processor that was unveiled by the Korean manufacturer at the CES 2013. The processor, named the Exynos 5 Octa, uses ARM’s big.LITTLE technology and combines Cortex A7 chips with Cortex A15 chips, to gain increases in performance and energy efficiency. Samsung and ARM claim that the new processor doubles the performance of the Exynos 4 processor, while halving the power consumption. Read more details about the Samsung eight-core processor here.

Among other key specifications, the Galaxy S IV is expected to feature a 5-inch display with full HD (1920×1080 pixel) resolution. There are also talks of 2GB of RAM and a 13MP rear camera on the device. The S IV is expected to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean straight-out-of-the-box, upgradable to the next version of Android currently speculated to be Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
