Samsung Galaxy R price dropped to Rs. 20,999

Updated on 19-Dec-2011

Samsung’s latest Android smartphone, Galaxy R, has been spotted selling online at a price tag of Rs. 20,999. It’s notable that the Galaxy R was launched in October this year for Rs. 26,990. The price cut comes at a time when handset manufacturers are reportedly looking to increase prices of their smartphones because of the rupee depreciation.

To refresh your memory, the Galaxy R, also touted as the cheaper version of Galaxy S II, runs on Android v2.3 operating system and is powered by 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor. The Galaxy R a.k.a Galaxy R I9103 comes with a 4.19-inch touchscreen with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, 5MP primary and 1.3MP secondary cameras. It has an internal storage of 8GB and can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. For connectivity, the device supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi. It has a 1,650 mAh battery, which is supposed to deliver back up of 22 hours in 2G and 9 hours in 3G network.
