Samsung's refurbished Galaxy Note 7 could be renamed Galaxy Note FE, where FE stands for Fan Edition. The smartphone is expected to be available in limited quantities in Samsung's home market.
Samsung's refurbished Note 7, likely to be renamed the Galaxy Note FE (fan edition) could go on sale next week. South Korea's Yonhap news agency reports that the refurbished variant of Galaxy Note 7 will be available starting July 7. The handset was initially rumoured to arrive at the end of this month.
The report adds that the Galaxy Note FE will be priced under 7,00,000 Korean Won (around Rs 40,000) and official sales will start from July 7. Korean media estimates that Samsung will make around 2.5 lakh to 3.4 lakh units available for purchase. The device will be more like a limited edition model aimed at Note series fans.
Samsung's refurbished Galaxy Note7 will feature the same design like the original one, with a metal and glass construction and a huge 5.7-inch Quad HD display. It will be powered by the company's Exynos 8890 chipset, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The camera department also stays the same with a 12MP rear shooter and a 5MP front camera.
The difference comes in the form of smaller 3200mAh battery. Korean media reports that the battery has been redesigned to eliminate the previous flaw, which hopefully makes the smartphone fire proof. The smartphone has also received FCC and Wi-Fi certification and has made its way through benchmarks revealing its existence. Samsung is anticipated to announce the next Note smartphone in September at a retail price of €999 and it is not clear why it is introducing Note FE now.
