Samsung Galaxy Note 7 may feature iris scanner, 12MP Dual Pixel camera
Leakster, Evan Blass also tips the phone to be available in black, silver and blue colour variants
Specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7 were leaked by Evan Blass, aka @evleaks. As per his tweet, the upcoming smartphone will feature a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, a 12MP Dual Pixel rear and 5MP front camera. Further, he says that the device would offer 64GB of onboard storage along with IP68 certification. While Blass does mention the the phone will be available in black, silver and blue colour variants, he doesn't mention the processor or the RAM. Previous rumours had suggested that the phone may sport a Snapdragon 823 SoC (Snapdragon 821) with 8GB of RAM. Further, he also claims that the phone will also sport an iris scanner, a feature that was earlier reported to be manufactured by camera module-maker Patron.
Blass had also posted a tweet in which he claimed that the phone will be named the Galaxy Note 7 and not the Note 6. According to previous reports, this move was to avoid any inconsistencies that may occur when it's two products are numbered differently. There were also reports that Samsung may utilise a dual-camera setup on the upcoming smartphone, however, the feature may instead be used on the next generation of the company’s flagship smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be unveiled on August 2.
