Samsung Galaxy Note 7 launch can be viewed in VR
Anyone with a phone, Gear VR headset, or even a PC can view the event in VR
Samsung is all set to finally unveil the Galaxy Note 7 at its Unpacked event in New York, and since the company will be streaming the event live, anyone can be a part of the it. However, Samsung will also be giving viewers the option of watching the event in VR. This would be a nice change from the run-of-the-mill launch events we’ve seen in the past. The event is scheduled to start on August 2, at 11:00 am EDT, which is 8:30 pm IST.
To watch the event in VR, mobile users and PC users can visit www.samsung.com/galaxy and choose 360 Live Stream. Mobile users can also visit Samsung Mobile on YouTube and choose 360 Live Stream. It should be noted that iOS users can only view the event via YouTube. Those with the Gear VR headset will need to download the Unpacked 360 View app from the Oculus Store.
While launching a phone in VR is pretty cool, Samsung isn’t the first to do so. Last year, OnePlus became the first company to launch the OnePlus 2 in VR by distributing headsets based on Google Cardboard. This year, the company also did something similar with the launch of the OnePlus 3, but this time around it also allowed viewers to purchase the device in VR.
