Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to feature a 3-sided YOUM display: Report

According to a rumor, Samsung's next flagship smartphone the Galaxy Note 4 may have a 'YOUM' flexible display. It will feature a three-sided display in which users can view messages, email and incoming calls from an angle.

Samsung showcased its 3-sided YOUM display at CES 2013. The display is bent from the left and right side to create additional zones. Yoon Han-Kil, senior vice-president of Samsung's product strategy team, recently stated that the company was planning to launch a new version of Galaxy Note with a "new firm factor." He did not provide any further details on the build quality.

An analyst at Seoul-based KDB Daewoo Securities, has also confirmed that Samsung's next flagship smartphone will feature a bent display. "The bent device is the first step toward testing the market and gauging how it would react to its foldable smartphones that are to be unveiled in the second half of next year. The fold-able phone would be the next Samsung flagship phone."

Other rumored features included in the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are a display resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It is expected to have 4 GB of RAM, a 20 MP camera with 4K video recording. It will also have a water and dust-resistant. Samsung may unveil the device at IFA 2014 in Berlin.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S5 in India for Rs 51,500. The smartphone has a 5.1-inch full HD display and a dust and water resistant body. It has an Exynos octa-core processor and a 16MP camera. Other features includ a fingerprint sensor, heart rate monitor and gesture sensors.
