Samsung has officially introduced its music-centric entry-level Android smartphone called the Galaxy Music. The device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system straight out of the box, and is said to have high sound quality and advanced music player features. Samsung has announced a dual-SIM version of the smartphone as well, called the Galaxy Music Duos.
With a music-centric entry-level smartphone, Samsung apparently aims to target its youth customers. The Galaxy Music, which had recently leaked ahead of official announcement, comes with various music-oriented features such as two front-facing speakers, a dedicated button to access music and video playback support. Being a music phone, the device supports a wide range of audio formats like MP3, OGG, ACC, ACC , eACC , AMR-NB, AMR-WB, WAV, MID, IMY, FLAC and WMA. Moreover, the Galaxy Music has an integrated FM tuner with RDS technology and also features the Samsung Touchwiz user interface.
Other specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Music include a 3-inch touchscreen with 320 x 240 pixels resolution, 3MP fixed rear camera with no flash, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is available supporting storage up to 32GB. The processor details haven’t been disclosed yet. The device comes with a 1,300mAh battery.
For connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy Music supports GPS, 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v3.0 and USB 2.0. The device comes preloaded with various applications such as Samsung ChatON IM, Google Play, Gmail, Google Search, Google Maps, Google Talk, Google Plus. Samsung hasn’t revealed the exact pricing and release date of the smartphone but we expect the device to hit the Indian market around the festival season.
