Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) running Android 6.0 receives WiFi certification
HIGHLIGHTS

Samsung's Galaxy J series is the best selling smartphone series in the South Korean company's lineup.

Samsung is reportedly working on the 2017 version of the Galaxy J series smartphones. While we have seen Galaxy J7 (2017) and Galaxy J3 (2017) leak in the past, the new leak confirms that a Galaxy J5 (2017) is also in works.

Samsung's Galaxy J5 (2017) has received WiFi certification ahead of the official announcement. The handset carries the model number SM-J530FM and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Samsung announced the Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5 (2016) in April and June respectively, and the 2017 version should arrive at a similar timeframe.

The specifications of the upcoming device is not yet known, but the handset is expected to feature an all-metal design. Samsung recently updated its Galaxy A series with IP68 water and dust resistance, until then available only on flagship devices. For Samsung, the Galaxy J series continues to be the most popular smartphone series in India, and the company will hopefully offer significantly improved features to make it stand out from the crowded budget space in phones.
