Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo goes official with 5-inch display, quad-core processor

Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo is listed in a Dutch online retail store with a price tag of €260 (about $355 and Rs. 22,000). The smartphone is expected to be available in other markets across the globe in the coming days.

Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy Grand Neo. The new Android smartphone from Samsung features a 5-inch display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo has 143.7 x 77.1 x 9.6mm dimension and weighs 163g. The smartphone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core A7 chipset along with 1GB of RAM. It sports a 5MP camera rear camera and VGA front camera. It has 8GB built-in storage, expandable via microSD.

For connectivity, the Galaxy Grand Neo supports EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi Direct support, 802.11Wi-Fi b/g/n 2.4GHz support, microUSB and Bluetooth 4.0. The Grand Neo packs a 2,100 mAh battery, rated to deliver 8 hours of Internet usage time (3G) and 10 hours on Wi-Fi.

Samsung has already announced a Neo variant of its old Galaxy S3 smartphone. Called the Galaxy S3 Neo , the smartphone features 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and 1.4GHz quad-core processor.

Samsung is also being rumoured to launch Neo variant of its Galaxy Note 3. According to recent leaked press shots of the device, the Note 3 Neo will have 5.55-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, Exynos chipset with a hexa-core CPU (1.7GHz dual core 1.3 GHz quad core), 2 GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 16 GB built-in storage a 3,100mAh battery.
