Samsung Galaxy A7 goes official with 6.3 mm slim form factor and all metal uni-body design
The company recently unveiled the Samsung Galaxy E5, E7, A3 and A5 in India. The Galaxy A7 is next in line.
The metal-clad Samsung Galaxy A7 has gone official and will be available at around the end of the first quarter this year. The new Samsung device will reportedly come with two chipset variants, including a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC and 32-bit Exynos 5430 SoC, both of which are octa-core processors. In addition, both the versions will come with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory along with a micro-SD card slot.
Further, the specifications of the Galaxy A7 also include a 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED display, along with a 13MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. It will also support Cat 4 LTE connectivity and run on Android 4.4 KitKat with the TouchWiz UI over it. The 64-bit SoC should imply that an Android 5.0 Lollipop update would be available sometime soon. The device will be powered by a 2,600 mAh battery.
The Galaxy A7 is reportedly only 6.3 mm thick and weighs at 141 grams, which makes it very sleek and slim. It is reportedly the slimmest metal unibody smartphone till date. It will be available in dark blue, gold and white colour schemes.
Reports say that Samsung has promised a ‘competitive price point’ for the smartphone. That said, the company recently launched the Galaxy E5, E7 and Galaxy A3, A5 at comparatively higher price points and disappointing specifications.
