Now that Samsung has launched its flagship devices for 2016, it seems like the company is setting its sights on next year’s devices. A listing for the Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 edition has appeared on GFXBench. As per the listing, the phone will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and will run Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 out of the box. The device is tipped to be powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core processor with Mali-T830 graphics. It is listed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. Further, the phone seems to be a selfie-centric device, as it states 16MP front and rear cameras.
To recall, Samsung had launched the Galaxy A7 (2016) in India earlier this year. The phone housed a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and is powered by an Exynos 7580 SoC with 3GB of RAM. It is equipped by a 3300mAh battery, and offers 16GB of onboard storage that can be expanded by up to 128GB. The device sported a 13MP rear camera with OIS, while at the front was a 5MP camera.
If Samsung does release a selfie-focussed smartphone with a 16MP front camera, then it will be up against other similar devices like the Oppo F1s. The F1s also features a 16MP front camera, but has a 13MP rear camera. The Oppo F1s is priced at Rs. 17,990, annd it remains to be seen what Samsung prices its 2017 edition of the Galaxy A7 at.
