HIGHLIGHTS

Alleged renders of the Samsung Galaxy A34 have been posted online

These renders show new shade options like lime, purple and pearlescent, which is a rarity when it comes to budget smartphones

The Samsung Galaxy A34 is expected to have a 6.5-inch OLED display, an Exynos chipset, and a 48-megapixel main camera.

Samsung Galaxy A34’s alleged renders have been leaked by The Tech Outlook revealing the likely colour options. The colours include new shades like lime, purple and pearlescent, which isn’t something that we generally see in budget smartphones that often. This may lead to an eventual trend where we may see other budget smartphones offering funky shades and steering away from the blacks and blues.

Why aren’t budget smartphones offered in fun colours?

There could be many reasons behind this – cost cutting, and the understanding that most customers are going to put a funky case on their smartphones in any case (so why add a colourful body when it will be covered). It is also important to note that market considerations play a role in determining what colours reach specific shores – for instance, in India, consumers tend to appreciate funky colours while in the US, most manufacturers just offer black as they believe customers won’t buy out-of-the-box shades.

To be clear, Samsung India has offered peach, mint, and copper colours in its budget range in the past, while the OnePlus Nord series are known for Jade fog and Bahama blues. However, most budget smartphones stick to black and white, which is rather boring.
