Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy S4 and the smartphone boasts of a slew of features apart from running some breathtaking hardware under the hood. Now that the S4 has been presented to the public, rumour mills have started churning out new information which suggests that the S4 mini will see the light of day in the coming months, June or July to be specific.
In February, we reported that the S4 mini was a part of Project J, which included the S4 along with the S4 mini. Four versions of the S4 mini are expected, with the model names GT-I9090, GT-I9192, GT-I9195 and GT-I9198.
The rumoured specifications of the S4 mini include a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a qHD (960×540 pixel) resolution, giving it a pixel density of 256ppi. Under the hood, a 1.66GHz dual-core processor will power the smartphone and it will run on Android 4.2.2 straight out of the box along with the TouchWiz UI. The S4 mini is expected to have a dual-SIM variant as well.
With the launch of the Galaxy S4, Samsung brought a slew of new features such as S Translator, Smart Pause, S Voice Drive, S Health, Air Gesture, and many more. We think that these features will make an appearance on the S4 mini as well.
What is a little puzzling about the S4 mini is that the leaked specs suggest a dual-core processor. Instead, Samsung could have used the Exynos 4212 Quad Core processor, which has been tried and tested in the Galaxy S III? All questions about the S4 mini will be put to rest when the device is unveiled to the public.
