Leaked images show an unannounced OnePlus device with Full HD screen and 2.2Ghz MediaTek processor, could be the OnePlus X (Mini)

A screenshot of a OnePlus device with the model number A2301 running AnTuTu Benchmark has been leaked. According to the leaked images, the device managed to get a score of 54,311. It reportedly features a Full HD screen, and is powered by an 2.2GHz MediaTek MT6795T processor, along with with 2GB of RAM and PowerVR Rogue G6200 GPU. It may also have a 13MP camera, and feature 32GB of internal storage. It is expected to run Android v5.1.1.

It is possible that the device could be the rumoured OnePlus Mini, also known as the OnePlus X. OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei, had confirmed that the company would be launching a new phone by the end of the year. When we asked him about the second OnePlus phone, he said, “Let’s just say that OnePlus 2 will be the only flagship phone for 2015. We believe in making few but great products and will never bloat up our product lines.” Going by the leaked image, the specifications of the OnePlus A2301 are lower than that of the OnePlus 2, the company’s current flagship device. Another interesting bit to note is that the phone in the leak has a MediaTek processor, while the two phones in the OnePlus lineup run on Snapdragon 801 and 810 processors. When we had asked about the possibility of using MediaTek’s processors in future OnePlus devices, Pei said, “We want to look beyond numbers and specs, and see what the real benefit to the user experience is. Never say never!”

A few days ago, renders of the OnePlus X (Mini) had surfaced on Weibo. The renders showed that the new device could have a metal frame with two speaker grills at the bottom. It also showed that the phone may have a dual-camera system at the back, along with a dual-LED flash. The device also seemed to have a slimmer profile as compared to the OnePlus 2. GizmoChina had reported that the new device could be announced in October at a price of $249, which is approximately Rs. 16,500.
