Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, which is S5's tougher version, have been going on over a month now.

Prominent tipster, @evleaks has tweeted a picture of showing a list of 277 .apk files running on a new and upcoming smartphone from Samsung. The tipster has suggested that the smartphone in question here is the rugged version of Samsung Galaxy S5 called the Galaxy S5 Active. According to @evleaks, Samsung might release the smartphone soon.

Last year, Samsung had released the Galaxy S4 Active which was basically a water and dust-proof version of the Galaxy S4. Except the TFT display, the S4 Active featured the same hardware components as the flagship S4. Most likely, the Galaxy S5 Active would come with similar specs as the S5 with minor tweaks other than the rugged features.

Samsung has not released any specifications or any other details about the S5 Active. Rumors suggest that the smartphone might be released at “Kapture The Moment” event on 29 April. Samsung might also unveil the Galaxy S5 Zoom and S5 Mini variants at the event as well. The S5 Zoom is primarily a photography-oriented variant of the Galaxy S5. It will feature a 20.2MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). On the other hand, S5 Mini is rumoured to feature a 4.5-inch screen with HD (720p) display.

No matter when these devices are launched, all of them are expected to come with the latest version of Android, KitKat 4.4.2. @evleaks has already suggested that Samsung is working on a SM-G870x model which could the rumoured S5 Active variant.
