The Moto Z series is one of the few smartphones in the market to offer a modular design and TechnoBuffalo and Android Authority may have given us a glimpse of what its successor will look like. The two websites have posted renders of the Moto Z2 Play, Moto Z2 and the Moto Z2 Force.
Renders suggest that all three devices will look pretty similar, which makes sense considering they are from the same family of devices. The front of all three devices shows a fingerprint scanner below the display as well as a LED flash for the front camera. There is a camera hump at the back with the connectors at the bottom, which will be used to attach the MotoMods. The power and volume button are on the right edge of the device. However, it’s the rear camera, which seems to be the major differentiating factor between the three (at least in terms of looks). While the Moto Z2 Play seems to have a standard rear camera setup with a single LED flash, the Moto Z2 Force might feature a dual-rear camera setup with dual-LED flash.
It wouldn’t be too surprising for Moto to launch a phone with a dual-camera setup considering that almost all major smartphone manufacturers, including Apple, have at least one smartphone in the market with such a setup. OnePlus is also expected to join the fray with its upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone. Yesterday, the company announced that it was partnering with DxO in order to improve the camera experience of the OnePlus 5.
