Reliance Retail’s LYF has added the LYF Earth 2 to its smartphone lineup in India and is priced at Rs 21,599. However, in a special discount, you could it for Rs.19,999 from the Reliance Digital stores. The phone comes with VoLTE 4G support on the 850, 1800 and 2300 Mhz bands in India.
The Earth 2 is powered by a Snapdragon Qualcomm 615 MSM8939 Octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz along with Adreno 405 GPU. You also get 3GB RAM for all your multitasking needs and 32GB internal storage capacity. The phone comes with dual SIM slots with 4G connectivity in the first and the other one could be replaced by a microSD card slot for storage expansion(up to 64GB). On the top is a 5.0-inch Full HD display running Android 5.1.1. It’s 2500 mAh battery claims to be optimised for a day’s usage, says LYF.
The LYF Earth 2 is the most expensive smartphone in their lineup and does come with unique features. It has a 13MP auto-focus front-facing camera along with another 13MP primary camera that comes with PDAF and laser auto-focus system. Along with many other software customisations, the phone features a unique voice-controlled camera feature that allows you to operate the camera by using the voice commands like, ‘Capture’, ‘Selfie’, ‘Switch Camera’, and many more. Another interesting feature on the Earth 2 is it’s Smart+ Security owing to the fingerprint sensor. You can save up to five fingerprints on the device out of which three could also be used to jump start to pre-configured apps. You also have the option to unlock the phone with a retina scan. The fingerprint scanner not only allows you to unlock and jumpstart to apps but also can encrypt photos, videos and other app data to protect them from public viewing. The phone also supports user-configurable 19 gestures, which LYF calls the smart sense+ technology that enables the user to open apps just by drawing the gestures over the screen.
With so many power-packed features, it would definitely be interesting to see how 4G VoLTE enabled LYF Earth 2 performs in benchmarks and real-life testing. Stay tuned for our full review on the same.
