Catching up with the user’s interests, Apple announced support for dual-SIM connectivity in its new 2018 iPhone lineup. While one will be able to use a nano-SIM, the other one needs to be an eSIM. Before the new phones reach buyers, Reliance Jio has announced that both, its prepaid and postpaid users will get to avail the eSIM feature and it claims to be the only telco to offer eSIM activation for prepaid users. An Airtel spokesperson said that eSIM feature will be available to Airtel customers, however, only for postpaid subscribers.
All the three new iPhones, the iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs and the iPhone Xs Max come with dual-SIM support where one is a nano-SIM, while the other one is an eSIM. The iPhone Xs and the iPhone Xs Max are currently up for pre-orders in India and Airtel and Jio are the only two telecom providers with whom a buyer can get eSIM connectivity.
The iPhone Xs and the Xs Max recently went up for pre-orders via Flipkart, the Airtel Online Store and Jio.com. The iPhone Xs comes in three models with 64GB, 256GB and 512GB of internal storage and is priced at Rs 99,900, Rs 1,14,900 and Rs 1,34,900 respectively. The larger iPhone Xs Max starts at Rs 1,09,900 for the 64GB version and Rs 1,24,900 and Rs 1,44,900 for the 512GB model respectively.
