Reliance Jio might announce its 4G feature phone with free access to Jio apps, soon.
Reliance Jio's next big announcement could be a 4G VoLTE-enabled feature phone priced at Rs 1,299. A recent report indicated that Reliance Jio will announce new feature phones priced between Rs 999 and Rs 1,500 in order to boost adoption for its 4G service.
Reliance Jio's 4G VoLTE feature phone will put emphasis on the company's own service. The leaked image was given to us by an unverified source on Digit Telgu's Facebook page, who also seems to have shared it with other publications. It shows a feature phone with shortcut keys for MyJio, JioTV, JioCinema and JioMusic. The feature phone sports a candybar form factor with the T9 keypad and D-pad in the center for navigation.
Reliance Jio's service works only with 4G-enabled devices and the company recently confirmed that it has over 72 million subscribers right now. It has been conceived as a data-first service, and its 4G plans start for as low as Rs 149. The service offers free voice calls and access to Jio apps. With 4G feature phone, Reliance Jio can attract more users and also expand its service.
