The Redmi K40 series is inching closer to launch as the phone will be unveiled in China on February 25. Redmi is teasing the series once again ahead of launch. The upcoming phones are expected to be called the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro.
The new teaser shared by the company reveals key design elements of one of the phones. While the name of the phone isn't clear from the teaser, it looks like the teaser is for the Redmi K40. The teaser reveals the design of the back panel which has a gradient finish on it. The phone at the back uses solid black with an interesting pattern running over it. There are diagonal strokes moving from the upper right to below.
The Redmi K40 series is all set for launch on February 25.
As per reports, both the Redmi K40 series phones will come equipped with a 6.67-inch E4 Samsung AMOLED Full HD+ panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panels won't come with much in the terms of bezels but will offer a punch-hole cutout for housing the front-facing camera. Of the two, the Pro model will be more powerful as it will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, with the regular Redmi K40 model tipped to come with a Snapdragon 700-series chipset or the Snapdragon 870 SoC. This is expected to be paired with 8GB DDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Apart from this, the phones are expected to come with support for connectivity options such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2. There may also be dual stereo speakers on the phones as well. However, there will be other differences between the two devices, with the Pro variant expected to house an AI triple-camera setup on the back with a primary 108MP lens. On the other hand, the Redmi K40 will most likely only offer a 64MP primary sensor.
Both phones will likely come running the latest Android 11 operating system with the company’s MIUI 12.5 skin. Keeping the lights on the device will be 4,420mAh battery packs with support for 33W fast charging support. While the phone maker has started to take reservations for the device, it hasn't revealed the price yet. However, it has hinted that the Redmi K40 Pro could start at 2,999 yuan (approx Rs 33,000).
