Redmi K20 specs leak ahead of official announcement
Specs of the Redmi K20 leak online.
The Redmi K20 was recently referred to as the "Flagship Killer 2.0" by Xiaomi's Global VP & MD.
Hours after OnePlus launched its much-awaited flagship smartphones, the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, Xiaomi Global VP & MD Manu Kumar Jain sent out a tongue-in-cheek tweet congratulating OnePlus. His tweet also alluded to the upcoming Redmi K20, a smartphone he referred to as the "Flagship Killer 2.0" in his tweet. In a more recent development, the Redmi K20's specifications leaked online. Parent brand Xiaomi has yet to make any official announcement about the smartphone. But let's review what we've learnt so far.
According to the new leak, the Redmi K20 has a 6.39-inch OLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2340 pixels) and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen is expected to be completely free of any notches. The selfie camera should be a pop-up type, similar to the one on the new OnePlus 7 Pro. The battery on the phone is expected to be a 4,000mAh unit. In comparison, the OnePlus 7 Pro's battery is of the same capacity.
Going by the new leak, the chipset powering the Redmi K20 is Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855. While we're not sure how much RAM the phone has, we know it has LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.1 storage. The rear panel is expected to contain a triple-camera setup: a 48-megapixel main sensor with an aperture of f/1.7, a 13-megapixel wide-angle sensor with an aperture of f/2.4, and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. The pop-up selfie shooter is expected to be a single 20-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/2.0.
The new leak comes from an online tech enthusiast named Harsh. The tweeter simply posted the specs on Twitter a couple of days ago. When popular online tech tipster Ishan Agarwal was called upon to verify the information, the 16-year-old simply shrugged his shoulders. Since these specs of the Redmi K20 come from an unverified source, it's best to take them with a hint of salt. We should learn more about the "Flagship Killer 2.0" in the coming days.
