The Redmi K20 Series of phones will debut in India next month and in the company's ongoing campaign to promote the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro devices, Redmi India has teased an Explorer Programme for the upcoming handsets. In a related development, Xiaomi India may have confirmed the launch date of the K20 series of phones. The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro have already launched in China and the company unveiled the same in Europe last week as the Mi 9T.
Redmi India shared an image on the Mi Community Forum and later tweeted out the same photo showing astronauts exploring space. The post read, “Mi fans, are you ready for a mission? One that will take you on an unexplored journey that you always wished for. Check this space tomorrow for more. RT if you know what's in store.” This suggests that the company is pointing towards an upcoming Explorer Programme for the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro smartphones. The company is expected to announce the date of the programme today. In the Explorer Programme, the company gives fans early access to the phone so they can use the device and explore its features before others.

It was earlier reported that Redmi would launch the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro devices in India on July 15, however, Xiaomi India Managing Director, Manu Kumar Jain, has tweeted out that the phones will launch in four weeks. “4 weeks to go,” said the tweet which was posted on June 18. If we strictly go by the information, the launch could happen on July 17. To get the correct date of the launch event, we have to wait till the company officially confirms it.
When launched, the Redmi K20 Series of phones would compete with the OnePlus 7 Series. Redmi India has repeatedly targeted its fellow Chinese brand on social media. The Redmi K20 Pro has been teased as the fastest phone in the market with highest AnTuTu score of 388,803. In our performance piece, OnePlus 7 Pro scored 368,084 on AnTuTu benchmarking test.
